Dabura a better antagonist than Buu?

Do you guys think, if the plot was better developed around him and his power increased, that Dabura would have made for a more interesting villain to Buu? and perhaps kept the tone that the Android/Cell saga set that so many fans seemed to love?

if not do you think that Dabura could have had a much larger role during the Buu saga than to be killed off so abruptly?

im interested in your thoughts and theories, i started thinking about this while watching a clip of Buu killing Dabura on youtube

I think that dabura has a lot of potential. He's the king of the demon realm. I wish we could get an arc or movie or chapter or SOMETHING that expands on the demon realm. I think dabura would the best way to do it

A great story imo would be after this universal tournament, someone, maybe a God of destruction like quitela(the mouse. After that last episode I think he seems like he would do something like this) and the supreme Kai of that universe escape their universe getting destroyed. They want revenge on universe 7 so they somehow end up resurrecting dabura, help him achieve a new power level, and try to take over universe 7. Another great evil duo! Goku and vegeta vs dabura and quitela. Beerus would definitely join the fight too so that would be exciting. Dabura could release some of the demon realm onto earth and corrupt everything. They'd be fighting in a crazy looking environment

Dabura definitely has potential. He's the king of the demon realm I mean you can't get much more grand and evil than that. His design and voice especially are insane. I'm sure there are plenty of ways the writers could figure out how he could be used

He was wasted as one of Babidi's goons and we'll most likely never see him again, especially after Yemma sent him to Heaven.

And no I don't think he would've been a better antagonist than Boo. Competent villain in his own right, he had the intimidating part down when we first saw him, easily detecting the Z-Fighters when the enemies hadn't been able to sense energy yet and mercilessly killing Kibito was cool, though he does nothing of consequence after that. If he'd gotten his own arc prior to the one we first saw him in, maybe we would've had a better idea of how menacing he was. Because he has the title of King of the Demon Realm and nothing else to build up any hype.

And oh my, how hyped we were to see his disappointing battle against Gohan, proving he wasn't all that cool to begin with. All of Babidi's mooks were wasted potential if you ask me.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

Yeah I could see it, but I thought what they did and used was better with Buu as the main antagonist. However it'd be nice to hype Dabura up, but it was kind of cool to see how far Goku and Vegeta had come by commenting on how weak Dabura was compared to them.

Thala na Gethu!

Dabura had TONS of potential.

Superior design. Check

Great VA. Check

Scope for great backstory. Check

Yet, was trashed just to pave way for Buu

I didnt like how he was killed off abruptly.

He would've made a fantastic addition to Z fighters

Dabura was the only good thing about the Buu arc villains until that magnificent bastard Super Buu arrived.

Dabura was yet just another victim of Buu saga's messing up with characters.

Piccolo was the Demon King of Earth as well, but in this saga was reduced down to a babysitter. Dabura was actually more interesting to see than, I dunno, a magical creature who gets random powers and abilities out of nowhere. Still, we see the King of the Demon Realm turned into a fag pacifist in the other world. Who is patronized by terrible mom duo.

Dabura felt, like the entire saga, as if it was meant to be an interesting concept bashed into a joke.

Buu was cool, He made a good villain for the most part. I liked that he was random and childlike in each form. It was new, every villain shouldn't follow the same pattern and his quirks made him more entertaining and interesting. Dabura was closer to how villains are pereived but he might of changed the show too much given his persona and what his backstory would be. This is dragonball, not castlevania, y'know?

Superior design. Check
Every single one of Boo's designs are light years ahead of Dabra's.

Dabura was our first and only glimpse into an entirely different celestial realm. He was the monarch of an obscured darkly kingdom filled with entities whom I believe would be physically and mentally relatable to the likes of Akkuman. The potential content Toriyama could have developed relating to Dabura's origin world would be far more interesting, in my opinion, than an ancient old puerile monster with little depth beyond his lust for food and eventual relationship with Mr Satan.

I think Dabara would have made for an excellent main villain in the Arc. Buu, while not a terrible villain, just seemed erratic with his ability to absorb and his ever changing personality/look. Plus his haxed regeneration and MASSIVE power increases made the power scaling way out of whack. Seriously taking the power scaling from the Buu arc seriously you are looking at power differences well over a multiple of a dozen, and for some that is underplaying it.

wut

The Devil (as in, Satan) isn't even in Castlevania. There's the Grim Reaper and Dracula, and Dabura's barely anything like those two.

He had some potential, but what we saw of him was kind of generic.

It's in total Toriyama fashion though, to introduce Satan as a villain, only for him to be quickly overshadowed by a giant pink baby.

I never said he was and who tf said Dabura is satan? He's the king of the Demon realm, does that sound like Dragonball or Castlevania? Exactly. Think what his backstory and motivation would even be.
